different tone? Hit an all time low for Boston this time of year..(42 and raw..yuck ) and driving home from work today I noticed my car's engine seemed to take on a different sound...almost like a deeper raspier sound when the gas is given to it...

I haven't noticed this sound before but it also felt like I felt more vibes in the gas pedal also when applying it...

Colder weather realted for the different sound? Believe me I'm paranoid with all the crap this car has given me so any little noise does send me into a tizzy lol

Same here. It was in the 40's here in MD and the engine did seem to have a slightly deeper note. Cold air is better for combustion though. So may also notice a slight increase in engine power.

Cold Air More power

The noise is most likely your car devouring the colder more dence air. Also you are probably not runnig the AC in the car as well causing less of a load on the moter. Enjoy it more power better mileage.
