suspension gurus, help real quick

just have a quick question.

I've ordered and received the ksport coilovers. I'm about to do the installation but want to make sure I've got everything I need. They do not come with rear strut mounts, and I'd like to be able to take them out and replace with stock assembly without the use of a spring compressor, for the winter months. Therefore i'll be buying a 2nd set of rear strut mounts for the coilovers. please see the attached pic:

http://www.eden.rutgers.edu/~nbalani/strut%20mount.jpg

Is the circled part the only thing I need to order or do I need the extra brackets above it, or the extra nuts above those? what about the dustboot or rubber(?) washer under the strut mount? please let me know what I need to order so that I'm not missing anything.

thanks all for the help, i want to take it apart once and do it right so the research in the beginning will be to my benefit. cant wait to post feedback either!

you should only need the strut mount. i would get new dustboots on the KSports if i were you. one of the reasons I went with D2 is because they had full dustboots that protect the entire slider not just the seal.

i just pulled the factory strut mount when I installed my D2's, I brought the old strut assembly to a friend at Firestone and pulled them for me for free.

do you have a torque wrench or a breaker bar? if not you will never got the bolts out of the lower bracket to remove the old assembly.

good luck with the install and I hope they work well for you.

Why do you want to go through the hassle of changing out suspension every winter? Just leave it in throughout.

well...this question is sorta to make sure its not THAT bad of a hassle...dont want the salt or whatever to mess with the coilovers. this is all wishful thinking of course, i may just end of getting lazy, but at least i know that i wont need a spring compressor, should i want to swap out- it will be one full assembly.

i would be lazy....

the KSports are nickle plated to resist corrossion so i would not worry about it. not to mention everytime you change them out you have to get a new alignment and reset the camber. its just a big PIA i would just stick with the coilovers all year.

I am going to and I live in Upstate New York where they salt the crap out of the roads.

Yes, I just had the OEM Strut Mounts pulled and put on the coilovers.

For the Dustboots, I went with D2 not KSport, so they already had the Dustboots on.

Pic of D2 Vs. KSport for the Dustboot.
