Don't you love it when...

your headlight gets stolen? I do, especially after washing and waxing the car and not seeing it for a total of 3 hours. I got back to my girlfriend's house at 4:00am and between then and 7:00am, i got f*cked. My gf's mother looked outside at 7:00 and saw it. Its nice considering the car has been out of the shop for like 2 months before this had to happen.(minor accident to driver-side wheel well) But seriously, what kind of an assh*le takes only one?

i want 2k2 headlights with DDE soooooooo bad but i can't do this $hit in NY, for motherfuking cumming whoring b!tch A$$ SOBs.........

LA02MAX May 15, 2005 07:26 PM

god that sucks...i'm so glad i live down south...and to think, i WAS going to move up to NY....i can't believe someone would actually do something like this...hopefully it'll get stolen from HIS car too (if he uses it that is..)

2MuchMAX4U May 15, 2005 07:47 PM

It doesn't necessarily means it's a maxima driver, the thief could have been spooked. But anyways it still sucks, sorry to hear about it. Was this in NY?

Bondy009 May 15, 2005 07:51 PM

yea man sorry to hear that...

as always, that sucks. On the bright side (if there is any), it doen'st look like the theif did any damage to your hood or bumper (or is there?), which would cost as much or more to fix/replace than a single light. Sorry again for the loss, but better they stole one than both I guess....

NJ Devils Fan May 15, 2005 07:53 PM

Yea, in the bronx-country club. Not like its a bad part. Thats what I don't get. Nothing happened for 9 months. Gonna get a cover and park around the street when I sleep over for now on. Yea, there is damage to the hood and the fender. Both need to be straigntened and repainted.

Bensmax00 May 15, 2005 07:56 PM

that sux dude

i havent heard about that kind of thing happening around here(northern Cali)

Lontar1 May 15, 2005 07:56 PM

Sorry for that man.... Here in Orlando is not common to happen but I saw the other day a Max w/o the HIDS.. now I'm kind of thinking about how to protect mines.... Sorry man

Mang May 15, 2005 08:22 PM

Wow, that really sucks. The worst part is that I'm from Westchester too. I used to get my haircuts down in Yonkers, but now that I have my Max, I try to stay local. I won't mention where I live, but I'm not too far and I hope this never happens to me. Good luck with the repairs.

TheBigDu May 15, 2005 08:40 PM

Sorry to hear about that man. This is what makes me cringe heading east to the more urban and crime-ridden areas of NJ and NY. Hopefully I'm not wrong in assuming that this won't happen to me where I live (rural).

What I want to know was did you have DataDots? I know it doesn't stop the thieves, but I'm just curious.

Bondy009 May 15, 2005 09:04 PM

BTW, to the Devils fan...they suck..GO BRuins!!!

Teufelhunden May 15, 2005 09:09 PM

only one headlight.... hmmm
sounds like some other ******* maxima owner. maybe his got stolen.
damn ****ers, i did get (one) of my clear sides stolen before... i thought, why just one? and why didnt he take the polarg bulb? any ways, sorry your lights got stolen.
i know you probably wanna kill someone right now.
you made me realize this still happens (esp in NY, NJ). but we all know that you cant be with your car 24/7. my next investment should be an alarm!! since i do travel to some ghetto neighborhoods here in jersey.
hey man, theres only one theif, and everyone else is trying to get their **** back!

TXT-1 May 15, 2005 09:27 PM

Man, I haven't seen a thread like this in awhile. I feel your pain bro, I had the same exact thing happen to me about a year ago. They took my passengers side light and did some damage to the fender and hood. This was in a quiet, South Jersey neighborhood by the way. Did you have the Data Dots done to your car? I would assume not since it looks like they did such a clean job. Good luck with the repair and I still have some contacts at the Nissan dealership I used to work at if you need a new OEM headlight a little over cost.

GuZo May 15, 2005 09:28 PM

If it was only one headliht than it means its going on a motorcycle or they got spooked in the act, around my area, every motorcycle is sporting HID's now.

Playero May 15, 2005 09:41 PM

data dots only help the Ballast not the headlight...

If you go thru the insurance, i think you should take the other one out and let them pay for both...regardless i dont think thei insurance can just buy one headlight they will be billed by the repair shop for 2....and you still have to pay your deductible...someone correct me if am wrong...
You never know the repair shop might be slick and keep the other one or the ballast since you still got it...

Talyan03 May 15, 2005 10:06 PM

sorry to hear that

Bondy009 May 16, 2005 12:24 PM

dont go through insurance, just buy a headlight off of ebay. Some sell aftermarket ones, The ones that fit OEM spec but are not OEM. They look and work identically and if you go through insurance they will pay for aftermarket ones...Which leads me to this. When i broke my headlight, I asked my autobody to order me the aftermarket OEM headlight, it was like 400 or 300 bucks so check ebay and check with a body shop to see which will be cheaper for you....About the F&cking of the brains, I dk about that one but I would drive around with a bat in my car from now on.hehe good luck man

MY2000MAX May 16, 2005 12:53 PM

Sorry to hear the bad news. Thats not cool at all.

Bl_asd May 16, 2005 01:30 PM

I'm failing to see the bright side here?? (for the guy that got his light stolen) :rotz:

MaximaPolak May 16, 2005 02:14 PM

Wow...there is almost no damage there....how the hell did he take out the light like that? You can tell the balast mount is still there.. :hmmrun:

Sorry, NJ Devils, i get so paranoid everytime i see a thread like this...

PaulyPoTz May 16, 2005 04:53 PM

i mean its really only like a 200-300$ investment to not get ur headlights stolen...get a sensitive alarm n try not to place in in the grille area.....the reason why its so easy to steal headlights is cuz the wire for the horm is rit ein the grille..one clip n the horn doesnt sound

TXT-1 May 16, 2005 05:22 PM

I completely disagree here. The placing of the alarm wire is irelevant. What do most people do when a car alarm is going off? They mutter to themselves for someone to shut that damn thing off. The main reason that the lights are easy to steal is the speed at which someone can do it. If you can take the lights in 30 seconds or less, the alarm is a mute point. That's all I'm gonna say about that. :repost2:

PaulyPoTz May 16, 2005 08:39 PM

9 out of 10 times if u have a sensitive alarm with a destinct ringer n u alway park ur car close to ur house...if u give a **** about ur car....i think ull run out...and if they clip ur horn wire thinking its ok to jus take a crobar to the hood..nn all of a sudden the alarm starts blaring they would most likly run or catch a beatin cuz ill be out there in 2 seconds.....im not saying its a 100% solution to the problem cuz nuttin is but its better than nothing..n its an opinion just how u have an opinion that u think im wrong so why do u want a :repost2: ??

It's a nice thought, but you better hook the alarm up to a battery in the trunk, because they'll just disconnect that as soon as they open the hood and the alarm will shut off in a few seconds anyway. And when you do go outside, you'd better assume these guys are armed and dangerous. They'll have at least a crowbar with them, so you better have something better, and hope they don't have a gun. :nervous: :gotme:

dude....its not worth getting killed over this sh**....i think my life is worth more the $1500 bucks....be smarter than that...

oxygen May 16, 2005 09:59 PM

NJDevils sorry to hear about your car, and by the way GO DEVILS, when is our hockey coming back? anyway...I dread finding this...After reading these horror stories I keep the car always parked in my girlfriend's driveway or my driveway or garage...rarely do i expose it to the street now because I dont want someone making off with my headlights and prying my **** with a crowbar. If I were you I *would* run this through insurance co. but my deductable is 500$ and i dont know how worth it that would be. Some ******* slammed into my old car and took off, and trust me its just as bad as this, and it pisses you off just as much. but, it does suck big time that you cant drive at night. Good luck...also NJ if you have your stock yellow / orange corner lights laying around , send me a message, I need a left side stocker cause mine has condensation in it.

Oxygen
condolences!

I wasn't meaning to start anything with you and I apologize if my post came off like that. I respect your opinion, I just do not agree with it. An alarm may serve as a deterrant, but if someone can snatch your lights before you even have a chance to look out your window, what's the point? That repost smilie I put on there was not aimed at you specifically, I meant that this has been discussed so many times before.

RoRLegion May 17, 2005 03:13 PM

Check ebay and see if anyone is selling a single headlight near where you live. Then **** his **** up.
