CAI - What to do w/ overflow connector?

I have noticed the connector from the stock intake down to what appears to be the overflow container for the radiator w/ a 90 degree elbow on my 00' SE. Does anybody know what function this serves? and any issues with disconnecting it for a different intake setup?
Thanks-

the stock intake has nothing to do with the radiator. you may be refering to a white plastic piece that sits below the scoop near the battery. i believe all 00 fed specs had these and it simply serves as a resonator for the intake. there should be no issues replacing it besides increased noise which is to be expected with any aftermarket intake.
