Bought a 2000 Max 5 speed and the car runs great. The only problem is when I've been driving and come to a light and stop after a couple of seconds the idle starts to drop off and will bounce a little bit getting down to about 550 at times. If I go to rev it up there is NO hesitation it revs right up but I don't know what is causing it to idle funny at a stop. Any ideas?

 

i got the same car as you, and i am recently having the same problem. im assuming it is the MAF dying. however i will let the pro's here answer that for sure.

how much is the MAF from him?

 

Could be a coil pack.
