why did you paint your hood 2 colors?

 

i am guessing you're talking to me...well, the main reason is I like carbon fiber, but didn't want the whole hood cf...it's just too much and i don't feel it looks finished...some people would say the same about my approach! lol. i wanted something original, classy and not to loud and overstated. i wanted to do a step better than this and use a silver carbon fiber so it would be much more subtle...problem was that the silver cf isn't avail at this time for the 5th gen. corey(redlinemax.com) would have had to order 10 and then it would be 6-8weeks for completion of the mould...so, that is why i painted my cf hood.

Contemplating Selling them to get stock 17s after I get a drop. Who knows, we'l see how it looks with them after I drop it.

Thanks Tom! We are working on the concept at this point...trying to determine how to mount it to the car. The shop I am having work on it is making some moulds of the factory grill and making wood frames to mock up and determine what method of framing is going to work best...we're tryin to get them to fit like factory...direct replacement. The framework and mounting is the most challenging part, so it is taking more time than anticipated. I have been told that it should be done early-mid spring...finished product, not just prototype/mock-up. i am lookin forward to seeing it finished. i am considering powder coating it black now after seeing the look of the grille-tech in.

I just happen to get up early every day. You're right about the night of partying....I gave up the drinking/drugging years ago. That's probably why I can be up that early! And you were posting before 7am....

I'm interested the grilles. Let me know when they're ready to go.....or sooner if you need a test monkey

not bbk yet, but i wanted to make the calipers look a bit sportier, and cleaner...than the crap they turn to after a winter in salt! thanks for the compliment Zippin...from you, that means a lot. you are always pretty critical, so for you to say other than the red calipers, the rest looks sweet, made my day thanks.

 

Darn about the grille, Cale. But maybe I can get a set before I head to Maxus.

IWNTMORHP!! I like your hood color choice. I would do the same, but in order for me to get CF hood I would have to get a custom mold done. That would make it too costly to make.

 

Here is my recently acquired 2K SE in Sterling Mist. Will add some more of my own pics when it gets warmer. What do you guys think? I plan on tinting the windows first, and then maybe add some other mods.
Any ideas?

why does your radiator hose look so shiny in that pic? Is it plastic or did you clear coat it?

 

i was thinking the exact same thing

 

gliptone white satin waterbased protectant...after cleaning the engine with diluted purple power and scrubbing with a brush, i saturate the engine bay with white satin or any other water based protectant to give it a fresh from the dealer shine...after a day or so of driving, it dulls down to a mello gloss, but i had just cleaned everything so it is really shiny.

 

Wow, that looks amazing! I'll have to get me some of that in the spring. Does Autozone sell it?

Wow! that engine bay is clean.

 

Since I cracked my Maxx Tunning lip I was not sure if I should get it again or the stillen lip. After I saw yours I think I will get the stillen especially since stillen warrenties them if they break.

 

www.gliptone.com the wax is pretty good too, but i like their detail spray, and their leather care products are amazing. the white satin is like a armor all but better. i am pleased with all their products but i have a system i use when i prep and wax the car and the pro buff and wax don't flow with the system, so i stick with my meguiars. thanks for the compliments everyone.

I know a bunch of you guys are against pinstripes on a maxima, but i kinda think it would look alright on mine. Post pics of max's with pinstripes if ya got 'em. Also, my max is tan, so what color would look best? A dark brown, black, ... ...??? Thanks in advance.
