Broken Key in 5.5 Gen Driver side

Long story, involving my car getting broken in to. Situation as it stands now is I have a key broken off in my driver side door. While I use my Keyless remote always to get in my car, and it really no big deal. I was woundering if anyone had some good suggestions on how to easily remove the key. Someone mentioned perhaps a set of medical tweezers, something ultra thin might help remove it. As it stands now, its 1/3 of a standard key stuck in (So you can really see anything exposed from the outside). I'm not looking to tear apart my door obviously to access the key cylinder. Not sure if anyone has any experience as a lock smith.

Thanks guys.

you could try, but then again you dont want to make the situation worse if you end up having to call a locksmith.

If you remove the inside door panel the lock cylinder may be visible from there. You might be able to push it out with a small screwdriver. otherwise you will have to remove the door handle asy. Really not as difficult as you think. leave a few hours if you have never done it before.
