im not gonna open a new thread about the max vs. altima per say, however i have emailed Nissan 3 times in the past week about my concerns about the effect of the new altima on all 5th gen maximas, and i have gotten no response at all. so my question is, has anyone else gotten a reply from nissan on this matter?? or perhaps the question should be, has anyone ever gotten any reply from nissan on anything?

Yep, I got a rely......

Here it is..

Thank you for contacting Nissan North America, Inc. and allowing us the
opportunity to be of assistance.

We are very sorry for your feelings in regard to the recent remodeling and
upgrading of our 2002 Altima. These changes were made to give the vehicle a
new bold and exciting image.

The changes to the 2002 Altima can be applied to Nissan as a whole, as we
are currently in the midst of implementing a new bold and exciting Nissan
Brand Initiative. Through the new Brand Initiative, we have dedicated
ourselves to developing vehicles for the model year 2002 that evoke a
passion for driving.

This same passion that can be seen in the 2002 Altima is also evident in our
2002 Frontier Crew Cab Long Bed, and the redesigned 2002 Xterra. We invite
you to visit our websites, www.nissandriven.com and www.nissannews.com, to
see for yourself.

Unfortunately, we are not offering any upgrades for our current Maxima
owners at this time.

If you have any further questions or comments, please feel free to e-mail
us.

Sincerely,

Layne Wakuta
