ATTN: All place racing CAI owners
I installed mine about a week ago. My question is, do you all get a whistle from it at about 1/2 throttle no matter the RPM range. I can press the gas pedal down or lift up on it during this whistle, and it will stop. I am not too concerned, but it almost sounds like there is leak in the tubing. I have taped off the temp sensor and it is not there. I have tighted and checked all the hose clamps on every tube and on the throttle body. The only thought I have on where it is, is where the lower tube meets the MAF there is a leak. There is only the metal plate mounted to the plastic flange of the MAF. Nothing sealing this area. I can't tape it off to just find out if it general helps due to the curves of the mounting plate. I (of coures not) don't want to put water on those areas to find if there is a leak. Any other suggestions???
If this is just normal, I don't mind too much, but the little noises are annoying. I get a metal on rubber sound when shifting gears (actually any time the engine might move a little it moves the CAI). This is just due to how tight that CAI is under the fuse box and next to the battery. I think i might put some vasoline on those area to help with the squeeeeeeeeeeks, but haven't decided just yet.
Thanks for any suggestions you might have!

yeah... -->
I have the whislte at certain throttle points.. and I believe its coming from the cone intake.. Nothing to be concerned about IMO... I kind of like the whislte it makes.. its real faint.. reminds me of a turbo somewhat..
yeah I get the whistle too
I hear the whistle at certain points also...my mechanic says it could be due to air escaping from the rubber tubing from the pipe when such a force of air is pushed through it. I haven't had any trouble though so I'd say theres nothing to worry about also!
