6 Disc CD changer

I have a 2000 maxima and I want to put a 6 disc changer in it. My radio has the control buttons for it. Are the maximas pre-wired for one in the trunk. Or what kind (brand) does the maxima use for the changer. Please help me out. Thanks.

Mine came with a clarion 6-disc I believe. I also have the Bose, not sure if it would make a difference though. Also not sure about being pre-wired, but I doubt it. The head unit should have the plugs you need to run it though.

CD Changer for 02-03 Non-Bose?

Anybody notice that the 02-03 Non-Bose head unit doesn't have the changer controls like the 00-01's do? I was wondering why there's a Nissan trunk changer listed for Non-Bose 02-03 Max's. Can I add this changer to my '02 Non-Bose Max?

because the 5.5 gens came with the in-dash 6 CD-changer, and i dont think they had the trunk mounted changer as an option unless you had the navi...I'm sure you will be able to use one with the OEM HU though....

you can buy the changer with the harness at the dealer. the harness of course goes from the changer in the truck, to the radio.

Ya I have the non-bose system as well in my 2000. But my radio has the CD/Changer button. So I just have to get the harness from the dealer and connect it to the back of my stock radio. Thanks for everyones help.

6CD Changer nice,.... but reccomend using cassette adapter and iPod... works great! they also make an adapter sold @ best buy that puts out an LED display and plugs directly into stock headunit

No, I have a 5.5 gen (2002) and the non-Bose HU is a single-disc CD that just looks like the optional Bose HU with a 6-CD changer. I just wanted to know if I have any changer options with the stock Non-Bose HU since it doesn't seem to have changer controls labelled on it.

Problem is, as I understand it, is that I would need your complete wiring harness too....
