Can you turn slotted rotors?

Thinking of going with powerslot rotors (slotted ,they don't make plain blanks) from tirerack.

Can you turn a slotted rotor? Does it cost more to do than a plain rotor or Is it harder to find places that will turn a slotted rotor?

thanks

I've machines drilled rotors ok(once), but tried to machine slots. No good. As the slot passes the bit, it makes a funny pattern on the opposite side. The lathe bits also don't like it. The rotors were garbage.

I knew a guy who got his slotted/drilled machined but the place had a special machine to do it...It was pretty expensive like 180 per axel or so...

Dude we're talking about rotors mate, since i've been working with mills and lathes for past three years, i'd have to say you could do it but you might break bits or you might not create that equal of a surface, you need a machine that cuts both sides of the rotor at the same time, otherwise you will get an uneven effect sorf of like ~~~ this, ofcourse thats and exaggeration but just trying to point out that turning them would cost you alot, unless your friend works in a cnc shop. You can do one side at a time but its very time consuming, so from my view its pointless plus now adays machine time is around 100 to 150 bucks an hour in most cnc shop, and that about for how much you can get new ones for.

I took mine to Checker Auto Parts and they told me to never bring them back...they broke 3 lathe bits.

I've used EBC, PowerSlot and Brembo slot and/or cross drilled rotors. By the time you spend the $$ to turn, you could just buy new ones.

So for those people who spent hundreds on upgrading their brake system including larger slotted rotors, they have to buy new sets everytime they get their brakes done?
