Interior Lighting problem - SOLVED

A little background first, in case this may be the problem, so i've had my interior LED swapped for months now. Today, I wanted to see if I could swap my front two switch consoles to
the consoles that come in a 2000 I30. I swapped both and what I thought would work(trying to get auto down on the front windows) didn't. I should have know...but it was worth a try. Anyway, I put my old switch consoles back on. Everything works functionality wise, but now the front interior lights don't work...the back switches light up. I've had this happen before and it turned out that dimmer switch was turned down but that's not it this time...I think i've checked my right fuses but none are burnt out....can anyone help??

If your switches worked in the first place, why did you try to switch them?

Sounds like your LEDs were damaged during the transfer. I would suggest first swapping the passenger side switch with one of the rear ones; this will indicate if the problem is with the switch or something greater.

i'll have to try that out tomorrow, the crazy part is I just took just unplugged the switches, didn't even open them up...if this doesn't work, it think it may be the dimmer switch, maybe putting in the I30 switches messed it up...thanks for the help...any luck in locating a power sources for your LED method that you posted last week?

Yeah, I think I need to tap from the Black wire and the red wire that is striped with either yellow or white. I will have the answer tonight.

I fixed the problem, in case anyone else runs into something like this.

Symptoms
All front interior lights were not working, this including front window consoles, radio display, AC display, and gauge lights, when the parking lights, or headlight were on. The back two switches still worked so that eliminated a blown fuse(Taillamp fuse found under the hood, I believe). Next I tried turning up the dim switch, but that didn't fix it.

Fixing the problem
Essentially, the dim switch was broken, so I replaced it with one from a junk yard. If all lights don't work including the back switches, it's a blown fuse.
