Where does this vacuum line connect to?

Just brought my new-to-me 2002 SE home, and noticed this while under the hood. It appears there is a vacuum line disconnected, but I cannot see anything that it is supposed to connect to. Does anyone recognize this and where does it go?.....Thanks in advance for any help.
Jason.

P.S. yeah I know the engine bay is filthy.......I'm working on that...

As the tranny gets hot, the air inside expands and needs to go somewhere. If the tranny housing was completely sealed, the heated air, along with tranny oil, would probably be forced out the seals, causing them to leak. Then as it cools, the air would get dense, creating a vacuum and possibly pull dirt back in around the seals and bearings.
