ipod connectivity

hey whats up....i just bought a ipod and I bought the monster cable attachment to wire it to the rca's on my alpine headunit. My problem is when its on aux mode my volume is extremely low, it plays but you can hardly hear it. Did anyone have a similar problem? my headunit is the cda-9827

I don't have an IPOD nor have I ever done this but I'm assuming your plugging in the IPOD through the headphone jack and it's going to RCA cables...is your volume on the IPOD way down because that might be causing the problem (just a guess)

I would agree with AdamK....I recently purchased an Ipod too and when I plugged it into my home stereo, it definately sounded wierd. It took a bit of adjusting to get it to sound right. I suggest placing the Ipod volume between 50-70% and then turning up the volume on the receiver to get it louder. Best of luck with your new toy, I love my Ipod.

I connect my ipod to my Kenwood though the cd-changer adapter that uses RCA plugs. I have to turn the volume all the way up on the ipod to get it to match the vol. of the cd player/radio/etc. Try playing w/the volume on the ipod to get it to match.

I have an iPod connected through the aux input of my Alpine. The volume is turned up 100% on the iPod, the EQ on the iPod is set to "flat" and I only adjust the volume via the Alpine. You should NOT change the input selector on the bottom of the head unit (the instructions on the head unit tell you to change the switch-but Alpine tech support says to not change the switch).

This is my situation when plugging the iPOD into our home stereo. Have to adjust the pod and stereo volume to reach the right sound (I run about 75% on the pod).
