Comments please on H&R springs.
I would like to hear what H&R owners have to say about these springs. I have illuminas waiting to be installed and looking for the right springs. I dont care much about lowering the car as much as i care about handling and ride comfort.

i just threw tein h techs on with stock struts. the ride is stiffer and it handles much better. on normal roads it feels the same but on a bumpy road you can feel it a bit. if your more into handling and not ride comfort i would go with eibach

sometimes u know what they say ... u get what you paid for. and decided to get the H&R. i had my car parked next to the maxima with maxspeeds on it. mine was a little lower. but then again i have a box in the trunk.
but performance is Awesome.

Although we all appreciate housecor's website, it is not a "scientific" poll or anything. As to "personal opinions", why don't we reference the Thread YOU made on this subject:

the opinions seem to be pretty evenly split, from what I can tell.
As to the comments on maxspeeds handling being bad - BS. I autocross my car on the weekends and drive on really crappy roads to work every day. I have NEVER had a complaint about the maxspeeds.......I'm not saying anything bad about H&R either....I think they're fine springs, but they just sit too low in the back for my liking.
I have driven both my car with maxspeeds and several with H&R's (including soonerfan's a couple of times) and I really could feel no difference at all.
As to the part about them being "German" and somehow being superior....whatever. Making a spring for a car is not freaking rocket science.
What I meant about the same is based on housecor website that the drop is 1.4 front 1.3 in the rear. If you can accomplish the same results with two different objects. what would you do. Will you buy the most expensive just because they have a better name....brand name.... think about it. but that's just my opinion.....

if you can get the springs used then that would be a better deal than paying full price.
personally i don't see the point of paying more for a product that's proven to perform virtually the same as a lower priced alternative. you live and you learn though.
spending a lot of $$ on a full suspension upgrade imo isn't worth unless you're going to the track/autocross.

I've been running Maxspeeds on stock shocks and they seemed fine on smooth roads and provide a very nice, even drop. However, on bumps the ride is literally bone jarring. I certainly hope H&R's are better because I can't stand the Maxspeeds any more and have the H&R's here ready for installation.

when will people learn that the stock shocks do not have the dampening power to deal with the increased spring rates of aftermarket springs?

I just put H&R springs and Tokiko Blues on my 01 Max SE, and the springs are awesome. They ride and handle great. And as for the Maxspeed vs. H&R discussion, I was told by my shop guys that the H&R's will last longer and and be a better overall spring. Not nocking other springs, this is just what I was told.
Go H&R and be happy. (Oh, I also had them on an Audi A4 I used to have, and they were great on that too)

Oh I learned alright and definitely agree with you. Illumina's are here and ready to be installed also. Unfortunately I'm not much of a do it yourself type of guy so I didn't want to take a chance again on a rough ride. Let me ask you this, how is your ride on rough roads and how is your ride on rough roads with a full load of passengers?
