burning my tires

I've try many times and I can't spin my tires. They will spin a little but not enough to make a mark on pavement. The car seems to run OK - it goes about 7.8-8s to 60mph. I have auto, original tires (crapenzas) and traction control is off. Anybody knows why I can't burn my tires

brake torque it, hold brakes and give some gas. It will rev a little more then let off the brakes and you are already alittle higher in the revs.

BTW why are you doin this?

you could always rev up your engine in neutral, and drop it into drive. but this will muff up your tranny eventually, especially if you do it at higher rpms.

Pull the ebrake, press the brake then gas pedal and rev it up to 2-3k rpm and let the foot brake go. Should do the trick.

With all my cars I had in the past I could do this (they were all standards do). I will soon change my tires to I figure that I can make some doughnuts but I can't and I was just wondering why.

couldn't have said it better myself...at my stupid, immature, rich people school, people in their cobras and ram hemi's are ALWAYS doing this trying to look like hard-asses, but i, along with many others, just look at them and think 'what a retard...' It is a complete waste of money and doesn't prove anything, nor does it make you look good....

find water, get your tires wet, pull up the e brake, brake torque the wheels and then gas it and let go of the brake. there you go, you need water to do a good one.

Drive in the rain. You'll be spinning your tires and going sideways in no time.

Recently, even after I'm driving around 10-15 mph or so, and I hit the gas, my tires have been breaking loose. I am not purposely trying to spin the tires or anything like that, just accelerating hard after I've already started moving from a stop. Doesn't matter if I'm going in a straight line or around a turn, happens almost every time. I let off once they start, but it's kinda odd, especially with heavy-ass 19" wheels and an automatic transmission (not that I'm complaining).

You must have a auto. I have a 6spd and burn my tires without trying some times. Wait for a good snow storm and then have some fun in an empty parking lot.

Only place Ive had a problem breaking the tires loose is above 5000ft.

Im back in Cali for the summer and love the increase in power (best mod yet! lol). Got on the gas real hard one night and found myself doing a burnout upto 5k RPMs! And Im and auto so thats a big deal for me. Unfortunately I was trying to accelerate not spin the tires.

Its simple actually, get some Taco Bell dinner trays, ya know, the plastic ones... put them on your rear tires, and let err rip! (I have seen it done. not quiet a donut, but a lot crazier.) Eats through those trays like crazy, but eh..

I have the very same problem except I'm still on stockers, but yea, pedestrians always think I'm trying to showoff or something but i'm not. the disadvantages of a powerful fwd

With the advanced timing, even with Pilot Sports I have to be careful rolling on the gas when passing someone. The tires will squeal if I just floor it at almost any speed in 1st. If I floored it from a stop, not sure it would move...guess that's what FWD does.

But like you said, not complaining.

to that one! just kidding! When i had my craptenzas i did that all the time going into 2nd and even 3rd, but i just thought it was my tires...now i can still do it even with my falkens, which are MUCH grippier....whenever i spin my tires, however, it is on accident...not on purpose...i havent as much since i got my new tires, but it seems like any time i was in gravel or water with my craptenzas, no matter what i did, i would spin them...

I have the Proxies 4 also, on heavy 18's....but ever since I did the timing advance, I can chirp them going into 2nd fairly easily. Keep in mind I'm a 3.0 as well

Bleach works really well too. It is really slippery and makes a lot of smoke.

Chirp in to second? so when you shift from first to second you can get them to chirp? now I dont feel bad....I thought you meant you could do a full on burn out through first and part of second....

you could try getting a fast car. that might help squeal the tires a little.
just a thought.
