threw a code need help?

I keep getting a SES light so I took it to a friend of mine who is a subaru specialist, but he has a tech 2 so what the heak. It showed my car threw a random misfire code. I pulled all my plugs and they all look good. They are fairly new also. He said it could just be because I have my car modded and my car is confused. The light goes on and then usually goes off within a few days and then will come back on a few weeks later. I was just wondering if anyone else has had this problem. Please let me know....Thanks.

I had my first SES light show on the weekend. The car was running great and it happened after I drove behind a car on a dusty road (maybe a connection, can't say). I took out the air filter, blew compressed air at the MAF then I reset the SES light using the gas pedal timing method. It has not returned in 4+ days.

Try doing a reset, if it comes back, dig deeper...

COILS
I was thinking the same thing. Is there a way to test if the coils are bad? I havn't seen a problem with the performance of the car at all.
