My Wifes Max is a Gunmetal 02 GLE with EVERY option including spoiler.
I just moved to Kodiak Isl, AK
there is aprox 70 miles of road here so needless to say this car will not be driven allot, as a matter of fact we've been here a month and we've put 17 miles on it (we also have a Ford Expedition)
It is almost a waste to have the car here just for the simple fact its more work to keep it here ie:I got to change the oil just to do it. I need to take it out of the garage every once and a while and drive it around just to keep stuff working. I work .5 miles from my house so as you can tell I wont be useing it much and I really cant take it on a long drive unless I drive back and forth on a couple main roads because out of the 70 miles of road about 30 of them are paved and I'm not taking the Max on a dirt road.

My point/question:
The car has 27,869 Miles on it right now
I'm leaving here June of 2008 so to my calculations the Max will have roughly 29K on the odometer by then (thats on the high side)
The car will also be paid off by then as well (nice)
How much do you estimate it will be worth, I know this is kind of a crap question but I'd like to get an idea what you thing people would pay for a Mint 6 year old Max with 29k miles.

 

www.kbb.com - i guess you can play around w/ Maxima's of other years dating back 6 years and get your estimate value like that. i don't see another way of doing it since i don't think there's a system or service that provides vehicle values that far into the future. if you don't need it now why not just sell it? good luck in finding what you want!

 

Well to be quite honest I dont want to sell it but I have a history of getting rid of cars after a year or 2 so by 08 I'll probably be ready to sell but for now for some odd reason I'm going to put wheels and tires on it

I have a loaded 2001 Maxima SE with 6,697 miles. I can literally walk to work (approx. 1 mile each way) and I do have another car (a 1994 Sentra LE 4 door). One reason I have such low mileage has been due to the price of gasoline. What has gas been here recently, about $3.00 a gallon? My Maxima is paid for and garage kept as well. Recently, I've had the new car itch, and have been looking at the FX45. My local Infiniti dealer only wants to give me $16,000 for my car. I asked for just a bit more. Not too much, I do understand it is 4 years old. They thought not! I've decided that I'm gonna keep my car. It's practically new! I have kept the fluids changed and services performed as per the time (every three months). I used to work part time in the service department at my local dealership and my technician and I are friends. If I were you, I would keep my car. I'm gonna keep mine! However, I'm not sure how much your car will be worth in 2008. Keep us posted on your decision. "Bran Da Man"

 

Well according to KBB 16k is higher than its value even with only 6k miles on it. But may I ask you a question? You don't wanna pay the high gas prices yet you want to get a SuV with worse gas milage?

 

I have a daughter that will be getting a drivers licence in 4 years. I guess a Maxima would be a good gift.

 

trade it in for a smaller more economical car, something very eaasy to park for the young one and and something slow enough to not eat your pockets, plus when distance is that short, u have all the time in the world

 

If I were you, I would get some POS car, or use a ATV. The maxima blows chunks in the snow anyways.

The depreciation will eat you alive. I figure a 99 Maxima GLE with that mileage/features would be worth $10-11k and so would your car in 2008. So figure your depreciation will be $5-6k for driving only 1k miles. So, figure your cost per mile just for depreciation would be $5-6 per mile driven.
