Gas Cap, Check Engine Light, 4th Time!!!!!!!!!

Ok today I had my check engine light come on for the 4th time since I have owned the car and for the 4th time it was the gas cap. I never fill the car with fuel with the car on, and I always turn the cap till it clicks like 3 times, has anyone else had this problem.

cut the plastic tie strap off the gas cap and remove the section that goes around the filler neck. Thats the way to solve it

It works for any car....the reason being is that sometimes the plastic ring or the strap itself dont seat properly or get in the way and prevent proper sealing. removing them gets rid of the gas cap sealing issue.

I hate the check engine light... It turned on one day, so i took it to my mechanic, and by the time i got there, it was off.. So now i keep pondering, is my car ok, or was it something minor. O well, ill wait. Unless there is a way to check prior check engine codes? Even though it isnt on anymore?

If it was something major....you would know.....Im not saying that you shouldn't be worried...I am just sayin if it comes on then goes off propelly something minor that has been fixed....
