i bought an 01 Anniversary ed. SE 5sp in blue, loaded with a vortech supercharger, custom front mount intercooler, coilover suspension, cat back exhaust, and i just changed the wheels from 19" axis wheels to oem 18" 04 wheels. very happy with the car.
-who makes headers? how much are they? power gains?
-can i put a smaller pulley on the blower to get more power? is it safe? only makes 7 psi now, is it safe to put more though it?
-what should this car run?
-anyone on this board in my area? upper darby, pa, near philly.

Dang, buddy, that sounds like a freakin' PHAT ride. I don't have much blower knowledge, but good luck, if you can crank up that boost, that thing is gonna be a rocket ship. Have fun rippin' on some ricers with that thing.
wow sounds like a sik ride. you can go with Hotshot, or Cattman headers. Hotshot are less $$, but cattman is comming out w/a new batch which should have more gains. these headers are for 02/03's, but will fit in an 00/01. you can get more info in the Supercharged/Turbocharged section: http://forums.maxima.org/forumdisplay.php?f=53
P.S. nice set of rides you got there. 26, and you have those cars....Impressive.

Let me guess.....this is the Maj AE that everyone was ranting and raving about being sold here on the FS forum, and also listed a couple times on Ebay right? That's a real nice ride. You can go with a smaller pulley and gain more psi. I'm taking it that the previous owner setup the engine for that kind of power already. Should have been with a blower on it anyway. I recommend waiting for the new headers from Cattman to be released pretty soon here, and look into that.
Here's a DC meet next weekend. One of the largest maxima meets in the country. Lots of us post-whoring bums will be there and a few cars that'll smoke even your's.

Yes, it's the legendary RCP yearly meet! Basically an excuse to drink beer, burn flesh on grates above coals, eat flesh, and look at cars.

it is the same car you are talking about. after i bought it i took the wheels off in favor of the oem's, and i got it cleaned up a bit. i guess i will wait for the newer set of headers.
i would go to a philly meat around here, not going to drive to washington d.c. between the ford meets, the truck meets, supra meets, and bike stuff, i don't really have any free weekends. if anyone in the philly area wants to check it out, just let me know.
anyone have any idea what this car should run? i have to find the time to get it to the track.
thanks

well as far as making it go faster yes you can get a smaller pulley and get the boost up to about 12 psi i beilieve not sure if anyon with a blower has more or not. if you don't have an afc get one. like everyone has said the hotshot or cattman headers would be good. since yours is a 5 speed looking to the new shifter bushing. it's for sale somewhere on the .org not sure where though.lightened flywheel, lightend crank pulley(they make on that is stock size and is like 5lbs lighter than stock). there are a lot of things that can be done. my guess on what your car will run should be in the 13's maybe 12's with a good tune and some slicks. thats just my guess though.

Sure, as long as the car is performance oriented and doesn't have an aftermarket audio system installed. Unorthrodox and Motorstorm pulleys are typically what is bought among most pulley owners here.
I personally think 7psi is just about right for the VQ's compression ratio. I've seen people run 14psi and I think it's pushing it. 7psi is safe, but you can crank it to ~10 and be ok, I think.
What should it run stock? High 14s since it's a 5spd. With the blower, intercooler and exhaust maybe low-mid 13s.
Hehe, it sounds like the previous owner didn't know what the f*ck they were doing and just thought "oh cool! a supercharger and loud exhaust!"
with all that money in bikes and rides i dont know why u didnt get an m3 and hook it up or a g35 coupe. and for anyone who is ready to chime in about the size
erformance ratio with the max, he couldve gotten an m5 also. but as far as having the max its def a nice one.
