Ooo... no more wheel gap...

Very interesting...

At first I thought it was the new Alty but upon closer inspection it looks like a different car altogether. Strong family resemblance, though. Love those headlights.

I will lose complete faith in cars if they produce that piece of $hit. That thing is hideous! What the hell is wrong with car companies, they just can't leave well enough alone.

Uhhh... isn't that a VW Jetta or Pass-it rebadged via Photoshop? If it is the Max, I know I don't have anything to worry about when THAT comes out (at least in the "looks" department ).

you know they look so much alike...that the black & white pic could have been the altima prototype.

Regardless if that is the 6th Gen - guess this is the first and last max I buy - that thing looks like crap!

The production model looks a million times better, although I see the resemblance. Nissan got smart and created a beautiful front end for the new Altima, more new Q design cues than anything else.

I like the design of the new Z. To me, the new Maxima looks like a four door family Z car. The other thing that I really like about this new Maxima is that it doesn't look like a family Honda, Toyota, etc. I think it sucks that all cars basically look the same. Take a quick glance at an accord and a Maxima from the side and they look very similar. With my Maxima, I wanted something different. The new Maxima looks like the Maxima I should have waited for.
Does anyone have any links that show the back of this new Maxima?

Whew... Let's all take a collective deep breath!

Like I said... Photoshop. But it's an Opel, not a VW as I had suspected.

Here's the link for the message on the general forum with a before and after hack job:

Some more info on the new Altima. I can't believe Nissan did this to current Maxima owners! "The new Altima will offer a V-6 as well as the base four-banger. Nissan has deliberately avoided offering a V-6 on precious generation Altimas for fear of cannibalizing Maxima sales. With this refreshing, the Altima actually leapfrogs past the current Maxima with a 3.5 litre VQ V-6 240hp. Base model 2.5litre DOHC 16-valve QR25 in-line four 180hp"

Can't wait for the new MAX to kick Altima's butt.

If the 6th Gen looks anything like the picture I just saw, I may consider either keeping my current 3rd Gen (and putting the or buying a 5th Gen AE in Sterling Mist or Super Black and souping the hell out of it.

Glad it's not the real thing. Besides, isn't it a bit early for pics of the 2K3 to be out when there isn't even any confirmed pics of the 2K2 pics with minor changes out yet?
