Code P158

Anyone know if this is a hard plug to have installed or anyone know any good deals...autozone quoted me 89 bucks for the plug but said it may be hard to put in since its above the cat? anyone know anything about this?

The PO158 code is the bank 2 (rear) O2 Sensor fault. Its probably out of range and requires replacement. The heated oxygen sensor 2 (rear) has a much longer switching time between rich and lean that the heated oxygen sensor 1 (front). The oxygen storage capacity before the three way catalyst (Manifold) causes the longer switching time. To judge the malfunctions of the heated oxygen sensor 2 (rear), ECM monitors whether the switching response of the sensor's voltage is faster than specified during the various driving conditions such as fuel-cut. Malfunction is detected when is takes more time for the sensor to respond between the rich and lean than the specified time.

Just replace the sensor. These are not easy to get to, but does not require that the exhaust to be removed. If you're mechanic is suggesting this, find another mechanic. $89 is cheap...
