Strange brake question...

The past 3 days after I drive for about 10 mins....I notice the car starting to shudder without hitting the brake or gas..... and every time I get out of the car...I notice a strange odor comming from the rear brakes....almost like burning rubber...and this is after just normal driving. One of my friends thought I left the E-brake up....but I almost never use that.

The pads & rotors were all replaced in March 2005, and only have about 5,000 miles on them....

Any ideas?

Looks like you've done some diagnostics already, at least you know where the problem could be. Just raise the vehicle and see if the wheel moves freely. If it doesn't move easily or one wheel seems is stiffer than the other, just pop off the wheel and look for any foreign material that may have picked up. It could also be a stuck caliper. Otherwise, I'd bring it back to the place where I got my brakes done. Good luck…

probably a stuck caliper. Get it fixed before winter or it can really make your drive interesting.

Oooo Blehmco's rear brake kit!!....How much did you pay for that? That would be hot.

But I may just take it back to where I got the brakes done...The problem seems to be getting worse.

Could I try pouring cold water on the caliper?
