OEM Rear Bumper Replacement Difficulty?

Hey guys,

To make a long and complicated story short, I got a new rear bumper so the Stillen rear lip would fit correctly (old bumper wasn't OEM apparently) The paint doesn't match to my satisfaction at all. I bought a used rear bumper from a 2001 and it will match much better and I'm just going to transfer the rear lip. Does anybody know how difficult it is to replace the OEM rear bumper and does anybody possibly have a how/to or pictures of where the screws are? I assume there are some mounting brackets as well that I could just re-use when installing this one. Thanks for any help.

It's really easy. Just take out all of the carpet in the trunk and you will see how easy it is. There are a couple of bolts and thats about it. Shouldn't take longer than 30 mins to swap it out.

theres 3 bolts along each side in the trunk, 4 bolts on each tail light, two pop rivets under each tail light, three bolts behind each wheel, and a bunch of little white plastic clips that pop off where the trunk latch area is. you can't get to the white plastic clips until you remove the bumper, i know it feels like it dont wanna come, just be careful and put some muscle into it.
I would RECOMEND a second set of hands, makes it soooooo much easier to reinstall, good luck

It is not hard as long as you know where all the bolts and screws are. I removed and replaced my rear bumper and energy absorber (foam piece behind the plastic bumper) in about an hour. Some parts of the installation will be very difficult if you don't have a second set of hands to help you out. Grab a friend or another local Org member to help you.
