Stock Air Scoop, and Sensor Question
Stock Air Scoop, and Sensor Question
okay, so I want to get rid of the stock air scoop, just because its ugly
I know a lot of people do it, but im seeing some sensors here i dont know what to do with. btw, i have a stillen intake, if that matters...
i know thats the boost sensor, and i can zip tie that somewhere else, thats just bracketed onto the scoop.
i dont know what this sensor is....what do people do with it when they out the stock scoop?
what is this actually going to underneath the battery?
thanks in advance!

i ziptied mine to the positive batter cable. i dont know what it is though. possible an air intake temp sensor?
as for that piping running under your battery, it leads to a larger plastic container that i think is supposed to collect large objects that accicently get sucked in through the scoop. you can get rid of it.

ah alright, yeah i was thinking if was for the temp sensor or something. thanks for the help!!! now i can clear this out, get a nice steel braded hose for the hose thats underneat it
you have any pics of your engine bay?

yea but it isnt as clean as yours. i was going to ask you about yours, like where did you get the filter from that you put on the side of your engine, what pipe did you use between your filter and throttle body, how did you clean out that vaccum tubes that are between the intake and the throttle body

as you can see right by my battery ziptied it there
and if you are wondering i am taking out that rusty brackets and sandblasting them and painting them. i nearly have them all done.

im using the stock piping between the throttle body and stillen intake. the crank case filter, i think i got that at pepboys. you can get them at pepboys, autozone, any place like that. look in the rice section
it doesnt really do anything just for looks.
im running in and out of the hose, having some trouble getting that sensor off near the filter, im sweating my *** off!!!!! haha its like 105 here in NY with the humidity. once i get it off, im gonna run to pepboys, try and find a nice steel braded radiator hose
(if i dont pass out before then)

so what did you do to fill the hole in the stock piping once you took off the tube that comes off the crank case?
yea i remember that sensor was a pain to get off, just take some pliars to it and pull.
