Bright Halos

Ever since I read Dr. Roy’s write up on the halos I was going to replace the original leds. I got the new ones from e-bay as Dr. Roy recommended. The result is better then what I expected.
This is how to get the halos out:

Most difficult is to solder the leds (for me anyway):

I used two 200 ohm resistors:

Halos with no lights:

All the lights:

you should do a writeup on this since ROY is MIA so you cant ask him questions...I want to do this too but I need more info. In not afraid but if I do something stupid it could all get f'ed up.

It is relatively simple. You have to open the headlights by heating them. Than pull out the halos as on the first picture. Pull out the old leds from the rings and solder the new leds same way as the old ones. You have to be careful to solder positive to positive and negative to negative (the longer wire on the led is +). I also replaced the resistors with two 100 ohms. The led is brighter with 100 ohm resistor but I don’t know if it will last. Then I glue back the new leds with glass glue as shown on the third picture.
