It's a DIY deal so...

Wherever you want. My just dangles. Others have secured with zip-ties. It's your world!

Did you have to cut hole in your splash guard to get it out in the open? I've heard of some people routing it through the front under the radiator, but I'm trying to figure out where to put it for the best gain.

yeah.....the tubing is under the radiator, but it faces outside through a small rectangular hole. I can close the hole back up and push the tubing back inside if needed.

I doubt there's any real world difference in performance regardless of where or how you mount the tube. I've got mine sitting inside the bumper skirt. I chose that location because it provides some protection against foreign material or particulate matter entering the OSCAI.

what exactly does the oscai do?

i recently put in my pop-charger, and the 'stock intake' thing (the black peice in front of the car), is just their, doing nothing (i think), but taking in some air, and letting it pass through the outlets.

now, in the oscai, you connect a tub to the bottom outlet, and that should blow in 'cold air'?

is the oscai supposed to just bring in cool air into the hot hood area, or is it suppposed to be sending cool air directly into the engine?

It relieves some of the restriction caused by the stock scoop and gives the intake a second source of cool air.

so the oscai only purpose is to bring in cool air into the hood area. ok

what about the silencer/cai that people were talking about a while back. not seeing much people with that setup, is it bad?

It's the same thing. The tubing attaches to the stock intake (take a look at the link in my sig). The air goes into the intake, not just into the engine compartment.

ok, just went out, and pulled out my scoop.

i think i understand now, i thought the bottom outlet (where the tube attaches to) was open, DOH!

i can see why it lessens the air restriction.

now, my last questions, i promise.

1) i cut a hole in that bottom with a dremel or something, and attach the tubing right?

even though the intake wont be connected to the engine (i have a pop-charger), it always good to bring in cool air. and i probably wont have to worry too much about water going into my engine (b/c its not connected)

If you have a popcharger then it probably won't help much. It helps with the stock intake but without the box, there is no reason for air to come up the tube.

rats! i didnt quite understand how the OSCAI worked before, so i went with the pop-charger.

i guess i'll spend some time trying to figure out something clever to do with my 'useless' scoop.

thanks for the help guys.

in the driver side splash guard just underneath the radiator. It's a small, rectangular slit.

I mounted mine through the splash guard also, except mine is still in round form. You can see pics of how I did it at:

http://www.desertpearlmax.homestead....amodspage.html

Just page down to the bottom, or click on the link for OSCAI at the top of this page.
