RPMs drop and car turns off...

2k auto gle... i changed my spark plugs, (NGK)... and today i turned my car on, the RPMs dropped slowly and the car just turned off...!?!?! also, usually the heat & gas that comes out of my exhaust is smooth and steady... but now i noticed that it "puffs"... meaning it's puffing out gas like every .5 seconds instead of the usual smooth and steady release...

what should i do?

Maybe you didn't put the spark plugs the right way or something like that, but who knows, you should know better then us the way you changed them.

agree with all of above, plus cpould be one of the bank 1 O2 sensors...but that wouldnt cause the car to shut off, sounds like a maf problem, but since u just changed the plugs it may be related to that.

Check the throttle wire and all the connections on the ignition coil.

one way to help rule out the MAF (actually it simply rules out a sensor problem) is to simply disconnect your MAF. ITs easy to access. Without the MAF signal the car will switch to limp mode. The car should run quite fine but will not rev over 2200 or so RPM.

If it doesn't run fine, it's not your maf or O2.

did you ever figure out what it was? did you run fuel pressure test to eliminate that?

will it stay running if you hold the gas pedal a bit?
