Changed Filter now get Bee's in the Can Noise

Hey, I just changed the filter on my intake and now i get the bee's in the can noise. I check all wirring and connections and they are all tight any ideas how to get rid of it, sounds like i get turbo but no boost lol

....changing the filter shouldn't have any effect on that....what y-pipe do you have?

siren001 Aug 7, 2005 04:55 PM

stock, but straight pipe after that, no cat. but b-pipe and muffler,

siren001 Aug 7, 2005 09:09 PM

I no more air box, I get K&N Cone Filter converted from Air Box to that.

KCMOMaxima Aug 7, 2005 09:28 PM

My Apexi intake makes the same noise, a whistle at around 2500 rpms, i dont think it is anything you need to worry about.

BewstAdd1ct Aug 8, 2005 12:33 PM

you just replaced the airbox with a cone filter, right?

KCMOMaxima Aug 8, 2005 12:52 PM

No I replaced the box with a berk intake and apexi cone filter, what kind of intake did you get?

My berk makes the same sound around 2-3k rpm so i think its just normal.

SoonerFan Aug 8, 2005 01:07 PM

my stillen, berk, and GAB all made the sound. its the air getting sucked into the throttle body

:sprint: and that's different from the bees-in-the-can sound you'd get from one of em older y-pipes...

Does anyone know of a way to fix the whistling noise from my intake at certain rpms? I know it has nothing to do with my aftermarket air filter, as I have heard the whistle with the air filter off as well as the MAF manifold off. I believe the whistle comes from air going through a fan blade at a specific speed that makes a resonating sound at a perfect frequency to make that noise. I had originally thought it was something like a small leak/hole that air was trying to come from when I fully opened throttle.

Anyways... I was hoping that someone had thought a solution that would help reduce this noise... as the intake sounds great, but the whistle is obnoxious.
