Looks great. IMO it's one of the best cosmetic mods we can do with our 5.5 gens. And it looks good no matter what color your Max is.

I wish I had seen this thread earlier, I'm in Baton Rouge too and I have done this before on my 2001... Chris, I can help you do yours too, I've AE'd my 5th gen and 4th gen, and I haven't broke either of them. Lemme know when you want to bake them I know how to do it without hurting your headlights.

i cleared and smoked mine, and went back to the oven two months later and put back the amber but my headlights are still smoked. i think this looks better imho. it makes the car look less BULKY in the front and more SHARP. maybe it's just an illusion, but i like my amber blinker as opposed to clear.

the blinker in your headlight can be cleared legally as long as the bulb blinks amber (can be a chromed amber bulb) It's the sidemarkers and the tail lights that cannot be legally cleared....

Not that hard to do. Just 2 bolts on each headlight.

What dremel attatchment did you guys use to cut out the malibu lense? Also how did you cut out a perfect circle. or is it not critical how perfect the circle is. I have done this with my wrx before but the orange lense just popped out and you were done. Im just a little worried about the whole cutting the malibu lense thing. Im probably just making it worse than it is I just want to be prepared when I do this to minimize down time.

cutting wheel followed by sanding wheel. its very important that the circle is perfect or it either wont fit or will fall out

well i did my lights and the stupid thing said not to be afraid to pull. i did that and my headlights had a metal piece under the headlight with the ballast attached to it. it said there was only two bolts but it was wrong. i broke the first headlight. the metal piece had two bolts on it also that needed to be removed because it is attached to the headlight. did any of yours have this on it? i did end up finishing it by gluing it to the headlight. and one of my angel eyes is partly purple. does anyone know why?

there is not one person on this site that has not broken the law. just about anything not stock on a car could be considered illegal if the cop is in a bad mood. so why even bother with your statement?
