upgrading from a 97 to an 02

i say maybe because i am waiting on the guy to tell me a price on it b4 i even really get into looking at it - before i get to far ahead of myself i just wanted to know the major advantages of the 02 over my 97. The 02 max is black and its an se so it has the moonroof the 17s spoiler leather seats and of course the 3.5. My max ---->check it here is pretty nice itself and i have spent so much money on it but i dunno i just want a newer car -just let me kno how much of a difference there really is between the 2 cars and if it is worth it 2 move on -i will b adding stuff about the 02 in a few hours when i go look it over again-o yea and what do youll thynk a good price is for it -it has 60k on it

Well you can check carvision.com, that's where I bought my 02 maxima, they have plenty of maxima's on there, auto, stick, whatever you want. Well obviously the one MAJOR difference in the two cars id say is.......your 97 is 190hp, and the 2002 is 255hp. Your taking a big jump, but I went from a 92(sohc) maxima, to a 2002, and that's a jump in 95hp! Took my a little while to get used to the 6-speed and the extra power, but it's a great car in my opinion. Go for it, and I bought my 2002 with 69K for $12,999. So it should be around the 14-15K price tag. Later.

Sounds like you are looking at an SE .. is it 4AT or 6MT?

Don't get into debt if you don't have to.

While you're at it, and if you decide to get the 02, keep the 97 .. I kept my 95 when I bought my 03 ... 2 Maximas are better than one.

Differences are sublte, everywhere .. most noteably under your right foot and your vison at night.

Let's see, you are 18 and have a car you already think is pretty nice. Why not keep driving your current car and saving the extra money? Well, unless you are independently wealthy and saving for the future doesn't matter to you. If I was your age again, that's what I'd be doing. Stay out of debt if at all possible my friend.

Agreed. Stay out of debt. The 02-03 maximas are sweet but not worth being in debt over.....

Yeah I kept my 92 also, use it as a daily beater, even tho it looks nice and people can't believe that I treat it as a daily driver. But 2 maxima's are better than one......

This is very true, I wouldn't want to get into debt over a car, well atleast not a 2002 maxima. Maybe a bentley or a CL 55,LOL.

OK, since you wanna be a d!ck about it....you can see for yourself some of major differences.

1. Different body style
2. Different engine
3. Different interior
4. Different Dash layout
5. Different rims
6. HID lights
7. Different available options

It's a different car in general. What kind of answer are you expecting? Is it worth it? Well that depends on you doesn't it? After all, you'll be driving it, not us.
