I purchased my 2001 Se 4wks ago. It was raining, the only day I had to buy the car. My father and I were both there to make the deal. Deal done everything signed, I take delivery of the car. Get the car home, it was late at night. Next day, walk outside, the sun was hitting the roof at just the right angle and BAMM!!! three dents in the roof. I was pi**ed. Call the dealer and naturally they say bring it in and the will take care of it. Ok, I go to wash the car, BAMM!!! Nicks in the driver and passenger molding. Call the dealer again, oh yeah will take care of it. Go the next week to have things taken care of, I told them I did not want the molding painted I wanted it replaced, will see what the touch up man says. So I walk around the lot and look at some cars, go back to were my car was and BAMM!!! the dude is pianting away. The dent man can not remove the dents, they are in a place that can't be reached because of the sun roof so it has to go to the body shop. More painting. I get the car from the touch up man, oh yeah he touched up the molding, and also got over spray all over both sides of the car. So at this point in time my father and I tell them that I don't want the car and to provide me with a new non defective car. They said they have the opportunity to fix the car first. Ok!! give it your best shot. I bring it to the body shop leave it for a week go pick it up and BAMM!!! it looks like crap, you can see every sand stroke in the piant, there is now over spray on 80% of the car and I now have a 25,000 dollar piece of crap that has a dull paint job scratches in place that were not there before and I have not even made the first payment yet. My fater and I demanded a new car just like it. They said they wanted 3500 difference because it was titled, and is now considered a used car. We told them they were crazy, and now are waiting to see what they are going to do. Sorry to sound like a cry baby but I did not spend that kind of money to end up with a depriciated defective car. How would you feel?

yeah, definitely call your state's better business office and see if your car qualifies as a lemon...

Write a letter to the owner of the dealership demanding a new car, put it in writing and send a copy to Nissan North America...

That's so bush league...

I would pay the $100-$200 and have a lawyer write them a strong letter demanding a replacement. Also, write the Nissan customer relations headquarters in Los angeles and let them know of the situation. Have the lawyer cc: nissan
also. Go to the Nissan web site and you will find a number to call and get their address.

Rule # one, never take delivery in the dark as you've found out, you can't inspect it properly.

Good luck

I would follow mike-777's advice. Get a lawyer involved and they will give you what you want.
Good luck. Don't take any crap. If you press them they will cave.

Tell your dealer that if they don't honor your request, you'll open a claim with Nissan USA: 1-800-NISSAN1. That ought to get them going.
