Wheel spacers..... it took a while....

Guys,

Please see the link below to my car domain page where I posted some pics of the wheel spacers I had made..... boy, did it take a while.... I guess when you have no money, you're put to the bottom of the list But I finally got them made, I have to test on my car, to make sure no one will get hurt, besides me, if they work out, we are going to do a larger run of parts. I'm going to put them on this weekend, so I'll have more pics up as well. I only have 3 sets ready right now, I'm using one, and if it works out, I'm going to sell the other 2. I'll post in here before putting them on the for sale board.

I also have longer studs for the rear, because they are 20mm, I got 63mm studs.

I also started an LLC to cover my butt in case somebody puts them on wrong, that also added to the time to make them.

wheres the best place to get longer studs, im only running 10mms int he rear and theres barely and thread holding them on.

Before I give a price, I want to make sure they work, If I have to do some modification, or change the material size, that will affect the price.

So spacers are used strictly for looks? Does it make your dropped suspension any better in terms of performance? I mean, maybe fix some hardcore camber issues?

How did those spacers work out? Show us some pics? I also would be interested.

Running 235/40/18's and need to push the front's out about 3/4 inch and the rears about 1 1/2 inches. Need to see what that converts to in mm's.

Need some longer studs also...I'm running on about 1/2 inch of thread...urgh!

technicly by adding spacers to the rear ur making the beam longer which would make it softer, but to such a minute amount, noone would prob notice, my feels the same with or without my spacers

I want to know if you made the rears the same size as the rotor. I have the H&R 5mm but they are smaller the then the rotor and the surface of my wheels are also bigger then the spacer. So if I put them on it would look like my wheel would be hovering. of coarse I am looking at a 5-10mm for the back since my wheels are allready 35mm offset.

Well, I got my spacers on... sort of.... I was finishing up the passenger side and a big ol storm blew in and cancelled all of my fun I was able to finish up the one side of the car, but the other side has to wait until Saturday. So now I can take left turns faster that rights .... J/K. I've put some pictures up on my car domain site, check them out let me know what you think.

There was one chage I had to make, which was opening up the holes for the studs on the rear pacer, when the studs get sucked in, they are not always straight out, this caused a problem with getting the spacer on.

Do you think you could make them so that the spacers are larger in diameter so that the spacer will sit flush with the rotors center hub? Or is this because you have aftermarket rotors and the center hub part of these rotors are larger than stock?

What's the work effort and cost involved to replace the studs? And what's the minimum recommended thread length for the lug nut?

I'm only using about 1/2 inch of thread currently and would clearly need to replace if I add spacers?

The diameter is smaller due the fact that we picked up remnant material and it was 5.5" in diameter for the prototypes. We are looking into replacing this with a larger diameter, however that will increase the cost. I don't know the size of the stock rotor, I'm assuming it is the same.

cost as of right now is sitting at around $160 for 20mm and 10mm (complete car) spacers shipped. If I decide to include longer studs with the fronts, the price will go up, I'm hoping to not have to do this.

If I can get enough people to buy in I can lower the cost, because I will be able to buy material in bulk.

Wouldn't you have to provide longer wheel studs for both 10mm and 20mm spacers? Anything larger than 5mm will/should require the use of longer wheel studs. Not using them wouldn't be very safe.

On my 19" Axis wheels with a 35mm offset, there is not much thread for the lugnut to screw onto. Using a 5mm spacer on my car right now, I don't think would be very safe.

i got my 20mm H&R for about 110 shipped, so this is a pretty good deal.

I'm interested in 10mm spacers for the fronts, with longer studs included if possible. Anyone know if the wheel will rub with 235/45/17 tires and the 10mm spacers?

I need a pair of 10mm's with longer studs. Damn 300Z calipers with 2004 rotors do not fit the 2004 Maxima SE wheels in case anyone wonders.

great job! you finally got it done! i was the one who was in phoenix for the summer and was thinking about testing them...that's a great price...i may have to look into this again after i get my leather seats and my suspension installed
