more crying about gas

i know in the manual for my 95 max it said it required 91 octane, i never got a manual for my 2002, i imagine it stayed the same

if it is 91 can you mix half tank 89 and half tank 93 and get the same results?

maybe i can save 5 cents on these ridiculous gas prices

yes. or you could just use all 93, or all 89. 91/93 is not required, but recommended. especially if you have base timing advance from stock to 17 or 18 degrees.

I've got an 03 and it says in the manual to use 93 only. For the little money you'll save on gas that's already expensive, I'd stick with the 93. Check the knocking and pinging thread here and make up your own mind.

I thought it said [U]93 recommended, not required.
