Alright, my bad, I misread a little(lot), but the controls are probably not the point of concern as much as the actual wiring connected to the controls, assuming that the wires have to turn with the wheel might wear them out. That just a guesstimation

well you my be right but nissan sales the part so i'm guessing that switch goes bad i'm going to repalce the switch
and post back to let you guys know what happend

I have the same problem with the volume control on my stereo. I have a CN628. I tried doing the easy fixes first by removing the **** cap, spraying compressed air to clean out any dirt and even sprayed some contact cleaner. Still have the same issue. I guess what I'd like to do next is replace the potentiameter or rheostat that controls the volume but not having any luck finding out what the part number is. Does anyone know where I can find that information?
