Should I get these?

I've got a Merlot 2002 SE, and i've been toying with the idea of doing a retrofit ala Dr. Roy, and painting my housings black, and adding Angel Eyes.

I notice that this has basically already been done, and even added projectors to the housing, instead of the Xenon HID's that I already have. My question is are these worth it, or would I be better served by doing everything manually? (removing the lights, baking them, opening them up, doing my mods, and then resealing them and putting them back on the car?)

Thoughts? I'm concerned about the light output on these.

I'll buy these for u if u give me your Stock lights........j/k
I think baking your stock lights and adding angel eyes will be better. Your HID's have a better light output the the projectors.
In my opinion they kind of look ricey.

IMO your car will look better if you just do DDE's and paint the housing black on your stock lights. Max's that have those projector lights always look kinda stupid to me.

Yeah, I kind of like the reflector housings as well, i'm just a little concerned about the whole baking process. I've never done anything like that to a car ever, especially mine.

You dont need to bake the headlight you can just use a heat gun it'll be a little more work but this way you'll be shure to not damage the clear cover in front. I did it that way and worked perfectly for me.

Those Ebay retro headlights look like crap in my opinion. Clear out your headlights yourself and you wont be disappointed. Just make sure you take your time and not rush anything. Housecor's how-to worked great for me. Good luck.

I'd use your lights, but paint the housing merlot, and your grill too. There's a picture of one like that floating around somewhere here. looks killer in merlot.

smoke the heads and add angel eyes. body color match in head lights, IMO, only looks good if you have some major body mods...

Yeah, I haven't heard anything good about those projectors, more bad than good. And, don't worry about baking your headlights to open them up....it's really simple and easy. Keeping the oven temp around 200-225 degrees for about 15-20 min will NOT harm them. It'll be just enough time to pull them apart with ease. I just wish when I did mine, I should have put the DDE's in. Oh, well.

please keep your stock headlights!!! mod those out... those ebay projectors are (IMO) one of the worst parts to come out for maximas in a long time - they're soooooooo fugly!!

Seems like it's pretty much a concensus. :P

I won't be doing this within the next few months, but in the spring i'll definately look at opening them up, painting the housing either black or merlot, clearing the parking lights, and adding DDE's.

I'm also thinking about turning my fogs into HID's, but I haven't researched the amount of work / money yet, so i might just replace the bulb into something that matches the HID's a bit better in the meantime.
