What opinions do you all have on what rim would look best on a 2001 SE Sterling Mist. I am intersted in changing the stock rims and replacing them with some sweet a$$ rims. Problem is I can't decide on what style rim. I have been browsing many of the sig pics on the site. I have some in mind just want to know what other ideas are out there.

Things to keep in mind

the current size I am looking for is 17"
Brand of rims: doesn't matter
Chrome vs. Alluminum Alloy: Not sure,
size of tire for rim: 225/50/R17

keep me posted

I like the look of the stock 17" wheels. I wish I had them as I only have the stock 16" wheels that come with the SE.

I know that in this day and age of eBay, it's difficult to ask this, but would you be interested in unloading your stock 17"-ers for about $600.00? My budget for car stuff doesn't usually allow me to go all out for things.

I am not a fan of aftermarket rims, I just find that most of them look too weird.

However, go find Shadow's car (4th gen) he has some 19 inch Avanti Racings on... WOW!

Most aftermarket rims are ugly and flashy to me but there are some that just look SWEET. Basically I like anything that looks like a race rim rather than a show rim.

Hehe those don't look too bad to me. But they aren't on my car, they're on yours. If they make you happy thats what's important.

I think rims help a personality stand out. Some are garish, some are flashy, and some strike a cord. I hope that mine strike someones fancy !!!!! (oops...here comes my wife again ) Better act responsible.....

i love the stock 17" rims. if i only got my maxima w/ them, i wouldnt have had to buy aftermarket rims =\

so what i did was, try to buy rims that follow the stock-style... in this case, 6 spoke design.

you'll end up with an aftermarket wheel that has a similiar stock look.

another thing is, i have wheels with a lip, and the spokes dont stretch from the center to the outer rim, making it seem smaller, where the stock do, making it seem larger.

sometime stock wheels are best. an example is the audi s4, you just cant change those rims or you mess it up.

I was looking at those wheels too!!! I wanted those so bad but a girl I knew told me about them and that she was getting them for her car (an accord) and since she told me ... I would have felt like an a$$ if I undercut her. Then I saw her out and she had the focal F3's ... ugly as hell, and now I'm looking at those wheels again. They are the Neeper Dagg's

Chrome looks real good on Sterling Mist.

I wanted a set of the stock 17s chromed, but the width is not enough to properly support 245/45 tires.

Looks pretty nice!!! I was considering those, but in the back of my mind, I always wanted Momo Arrows But for the 5th gen, I think Momo Racers would look pretty good!

Here are pics of the 2 sets of rims that have been on my car.
I got rims that looked good and were easy to clean.
I think my first set(that I took off my 98se) were too sharp and linear so I when they got scraped up my goodyear I got some that were more rounded and matched the curves of my 00se. and still easy to clean. Plus the polished lip and alan bolts give it a nice look.

OZ's 4-life!!

I agree that most aftermarket rims look nasty. Especially them so-called "DUBS" they have on some VIP cars. YUCK!! Slapping on some ugly chrome ninja star rims totally kill any car and can make even a Max look ghetto. Both the cars I have now (1st gen Q45 and 240SX) have O.Z. Rims. Not only do they look good with a combination of a luxury/touring look but they're rather durable. I drive em hard and they have bent or deformed in any way and the gun metal color has dulled like some other rims I used to have (Kosei especially). I like A LOT of the rims they have in Japan like the Gewalt, Impul, Work, Hokuto and Racing Hart lines. Only American rim lines i like are BBS(?) and fikse.

After seeing the rest of the pics, they look even better. What springs did you use to lower the car?

check tirerack.com or discounttire.com - you can see what certain kinds of rims would look like on your max.

3 piece rims

look the best. No matter how old they get they will always be classics. any authentic 3pc rim like R/H, Volk, BBS, OZ, and other brands from Japan are nice.

The style of rims you have on your car are hot...with the 18's and your car lowered, any rubbing problems?

rims rims rims

I love millie meglia's, or tantrums on the 5th gen, but on the 4th gen momo arrows are the $hit. euromax, your car looks like such a bad @ss. i went for the stock look too and just purchased the AE rims from someone off ebay. i am hoping to turn mine into a full fledged SMX maxima. getting the supercharger next year, and until then i am going to put in everything stillen makes for the car in it! good luck with the purchase.
