Please help me out

After summer vacation, i have no been taking care of my 2000maxima, today i finally got fed up with all the dirty and funny noise coming from it and started fixing it up. I fixed my fog lights, my turn signals and got new windsheild wipers. Alrigth so its not much, but the car looks better anyway. But what i wanted to do from the day i bought the car was put in a cold air intake. Since i'm a little short on the money right now, i was wondering if i buy one of those cone filters from like autozone for 20bucks and put it on instead of that big *** intake the stock maxima has, will it be at all any better. if not at all better, will it be worse for my max. And if it is ok for me to do it, can some one please tell me where to i put the sensor thats connected to the pipe that goes into the actuall filter box. I know its preatty hard to understand what i'm asking, but maybe those of u who really know maximas well can figure out my question.

Thanks alot

Google is your friend.

But, because I feel nice and all, I'll give you a quick and dirty solution: GAB intake. Check the stickies.

What you can do is go onto ebay and buy an adapter between the stock intake piping and a cone filter. I seen them as cheap as 3 bucks. Then go to autozone and make a custom intake using the pipes they have for sale. A friend of mine had done it on his 240 and boy is it nice.

Might be a fun project, I always wanted to do it but never had the chance to.

Look up the ghetto air box in the how-to's. It's a $1.00 CAI that works VERY well.
