IAT Resistor. Does It Work?

On ebay I've seen these devices being sold that state will give you're vehicle an increase in horsepower by simply installing a resistor at your IAT sensor. My question is, does this modification actually work? Has anyone here tried this? Maybe someone can shine some light on this. Thanks! Very risky. I've take one of these apart. It will fool ECU so the temp reading is off to lean the motor out basically. The problem is you don't know how much it is changing things and can cause serious damage. If you want to tune AF mixture best to use an E-Manage or SAFC II and tune it on the dyno so you can be sure the settings are properly set.

No matter how simple the design is, something that safely adds 20 HP will not cost $12
