Front Strut Dust Boots Torn Off

The front strut dust boots are torn and falling apart. I just removed the brittle boots parts over the weekend. I would assume the boots have to be replaced to prevent the strut from failing.

Any suggestions on which boots are easily available and how early should the boots be replaced.

If you are going to replace the boots, you might as well replace the struts (and springs if you want to do that). Most likely, if your boots are shot, your struts aren't far behind...

Get the boots from DaveB @ southpoint cheap. Or you could check your local salvage yard. It's a pretty easy swap. Check the strut swap how-to on my site.

Be sure to inspect the shaft on the strut for any scarring or oil that could be a sign of imminent failure.
