Found out that i have...

I just noticed that while pressing the gas driving normal in my 02 max that the eninge light is not on but its a little dim,. so i was like maybe its the backlite from the gaages so i turned them off and it was still a little dim not on but dim. So i turned the car off to make sure when you turn the car on you see the eninge light on like you should and it regular light is bright. So im like what the hell is this saying...

thanks

Very common problem. Annoying, but nothing to worry about. There have been many threads about this. Some got it fixed under the 12/12 waranty. IIRC it's a diode in the cluster that needed to be replaced. The light will get bright if there is a problem. I've learned to live with mine.

If the car is under warranty they will replace the your gauge cluster for free. My 02 had the dim light cel problem from day one and it was replaced under warranty. Don't just live with it unless your out of warranty. Its a very common problem though.

Depends on how good the warranty and how much you paid for the car. Threaten to bring it back. Mine did it and I asked the dealer about it for 2-3 service visits. Baffled everyon until one time in the mechanic knew exactly what it was.
