Car Got Broken into, Help Needed

Hey,

My car got broken into last night. They pried the front door lock and handle open, on the drivers side, and it doesnt open front outside but from the inside it does.

Anyone know how hard it is to change the parts inside?

Anyone know where to get the parts?

What kinda place would be good to get it fixed, or how hard is it to do yourself

Hate that it happened to you man. But you are somewhat lucky in that those thieves were pretty clean about their work. I it looks like what you need to me is some weather stripping and to either fix the broken lock (doesn't look to bad) or replace with a new one ( order it from Dave B, I'm sure he can get you one), and fix those small pry marks, if you have any knowledge of how to use a grind stone, do it yourself or find someone you know who does. Then all you need is some touch-up paint.

The front door doesnt open from the outside, it just moves when you push it closed. Whats Dave B. numbers or where can i get in contact with him.

How do you totally take off the handle. I want to replace the lock the handle and to make it look and work like new.

Do you think they messed up the linkage inside thats why the door doesnt open from the outside.

You will have to take out the door panel to really assess what is going on. The rod was probably jarred loose from the hinge thats why it is not opening from the outside.

First: Take those pics off!! Last thing we need is to give theives more ideas about how to break into our cars.

Second: Call DaveB, he'll give you the right parts and tell you how to do it (it's not hard)

it's not the pros I worry about....they cannot be stopped. It's the dumbass 18year old who reads this post and says "dayum, I can just pop the handle off and it's that easy??" and then does it....
