altima lsd fit?

there is a nismo mechanical LSD available for the from 93-01 years...don't they use the same 5spd we use, but with slightly different gearing? so would this install be possible?

hmm, an interesting replacement for the weaker 4th gen trannies and better opportunity to find lsd for the 5th gens....hope to never run into this but would be hot if we had more options....bump for more info.

well...back in the day I did the research and found out the bellhousing bolt pattern is different as the 5spd is the same model #/code number as our 5spds...but apparently there are differences as they had to bolt up to 4 cylinder engines on those year altimas instead...what I want to do is buy the nismo lsd and hope that it would be able to replace our lsd's in our trannies because the internals are apparently the same except for the slightly different (more aggressive) gearing except for 5th which is actually slightly longer it seems on the altima tranny...but 1-4 is shorter and closer by a little bit...

The transmission internals are compatible, but the main question is if the axle ends at the differential are the same. If they are then it might work.

just to save you some money since superior nissan had one in stock awhile back and I took a look.

Apparently nissan got confused and thought that the jdm version of the altima would be the same as the usdm ones so they packaged up the lsd with that assumption. If you look at the packaging on the nismo box you will see that the compatible chassis' available for that tranny are not for the usdm altima. I don't recall exactly the chassis code (p11 or u11, something of that sort, I believe a nissan bluebird)

oh, and the axle ends are different and it is mechanically different than the maxima diff that it would replace
