what year was my car made

i wanted to order some hawk pads today for my 2000 maxima from tirerack.com, so i was looking into them and the fronts ones no problem for the rear ones it was like before 10/2000 this ones after 10/2000 this ones. how do i figure out if my car was before or after these dates.

I believe there are stickers under the hood that have production date.

it's in the front driver's side door jamb.

i went on carfax and looke it up, now it said that on 3/10/2000 my car we recived at the dealr, so i assume that it was made before 10/2000, can i rely on carfax for that

Look in your door. It's on the driver's side pillar. I know it's difficult to get out of the chair and all, but...

haha, yes it is difficult, but a few month ago i had body work done the the body shop guys took off the sticker becuase it had the color code on it. so i don't have the sticker anymore. i guess another thing i can do is go the dealer.

call 1-800-NISSAN1 with the VIN number and they can look it up.

Wouldn't 10/2000 and later be a 2001 model.

I assume they changed it when they switched 2 oxygen sensors to 4 – just a guess though.

Yes. If you have a 2000, then your car was built before 10/2000.
