Radiator Fan

My passenger-side radiator fan motor bearings are squeeking and nearing death. Isn't this kind of early for an '03 Max? Has anyone had this happen so soon?

THX,
JL

I had a different problem, the fan was rattling when it got turned on. Now, if you look carefully the fans motor casing is made of brass and around the circumference you will see slots where the casing is held to the fan itself. Using a screwdriver push open the slots and then use a hammer to tap to disengage the motor brass casing and the fan.

Let me tell u it is quite a sync motor in there. There are cyclinderical 1-2 inches long slots which are held by springs which if dislodged they can be hell to put back. In my case a spring had popped out, put it back together and it works just fine now.
