Does this make sense??
A few weeks ago I had the SES light come on. I had the codes pulled, which were P0445 and P1448. Brought it into the dealer to find out exactly what needed to be repaired, which turned out to be the EVAP canister, accompanying valve, and the water seperator, at a cost of about $600. They said it would be ok for a while un-fixed, and since I need new winter tires and front brakes, I haven't done it yet. But since then, the SES light has not come on. Shouldn't come on since the problem still exists?? I'm perplexed...
Also, is Dave B's org name DaveB? Gotta ask him about these parts... thanks!

I had the same problem with my 97 Max, which was fixed by the dealer at a cost of $450. The car drove fine with the light on. I was worried that it might not pass inspection (pollution control) and my regular mechanic also told me so, I had it fixed anyway. Well, I thought Nissan had fixed this problem since the 4th gen, and now I am surprised that the same problem remains in the 5.5 gen. Either they never learn from their previous mistakes (design problme) or they are trying to make more money from their customers by perpetutating a defective design.
