YEah!!!!!!! Much much quicker. Everyone had told me about the hard shift from 1-2 but after my drive home I didn't notice anything...however I didn't take any slow shifts. It is pretty rough but my old 85 T-turd shifted about the same hardest. I do have alot of rattling in the exhaust and am getting from stuff to fix. The shift from 2-3 is the best at WOT mega fast. I love it. Just need a technosquare ECU and there should be another 13 second AUTO 5.5 Gen.

Yeah I just got my HS headers installed this weekend, along with a UR udp, wooooooooo what gains, when people talked about headers I said, "yeah yeah", but if I knew I would experience this type of gains with two mods I would have done this along time ago. Im also a 6-speed, so I feel a little more pull. I love being NA, and beating up on turbo cars. It's the best...

Do ya'll have pics of the install? Comments on fitment, etc? Anything in particular you ran into while doing it? Just curious to know....

Tilleys99 from ElevatedBodyWorks did the install. He said it wasn't too fun.
No pics yet.

I don't know about that. I've had turbo cars and I don't plan on taking any on the highway.

Isn't that Juice? Anyways, like Nmexmax said... its not gonna be exactly the same... there are differences from car to car and definitely from driver to driver... its not just about stomping on the gas...

If a certain place would have mailed my VB mod when they said they did and not 2 weeks later I would have had my Max at the track this past saturday; but now the tracks are closed for the winter.

When are your nearest plans for dyno or track time...Typically, you like the track, since you've ran a few times IIRC... I'm anxious to see an ET with headers.

I am very interested in what I will run as well.
Nearest plans are tomorrow if the track hasn't closed for the season. As for dyno, I need to find the place a fellow St. Louisian recommended.
ET-I think I might still have an exhaust leak but I am not sure. With a 14.8 before headers/y-pipe I expect at least low 14s.

Oh sh!ttards.. I didn't know that... Did he have a dyno? Or am I confusing all these late header dynos with him..Since the recent slew of dynos seemed to be all 6MT's.

Am I the only auto 3.5L that has Cattmans....Gen I's of course .???

I will be taking it to the track soon. Probably within a month. I am swamped with exams for the next couple of weeks. The car will not be dyno'ed for awhile, until I can gather up some funds and time for tuning.

Well the shop that did my headers and udp is familiar with doing engine modifications and they only took 4 hours(and took a break for lunch). I mean these guys did such a great job, the only problem was where the o2 sensor is supposed to go in the front, he couldnt get it in there because it was to close to an AC hose, or something he said. So he had to close that hole, and make a new hole on the top of the headers to make it fit, I was kinda nervous but he did a good job. I will post pics in a minute, remember that they are camera phone pics.(Beware to sucky photos)

my only complaint about the headers is the y pipe didnt meet up well with them even while all 3 pieces were loose.

I'm gonna hate it if I ever move out of state. 'Cause I'll only be used to a 4 week (at the very most) long period with the track closed, lol.

How do the headers sound?
Is there an increase?
I am interested in headers, but wish to keep sound levels as stock as
possible.

I see HS is still ignoring my complaint list about their headers not properly fitting.

that the thing that i cant decide on which headers to get. hotshot are cheaper and people have been getting the same gains with them as the cattmans. the only problem is some people have perfect fitment and others dont have perfect fitment.

Its backwards. The slower you accelerate from 1-2 and 2-3 the harder the shift.
However when at WOT there is ZERO time between shifts. VERY VERY FAST.
Put it this way my first slow 1-2 my foot let off of the gas pedal because of the jolt. There is only one way to drive the car now. Speed up as fast as possible.

BTW Tilley, unless I'm cruisin at about 70 on the highway my car is 100% total annoying rattle all the way out the exhaust. Its almost like I can feel the fumes go all the way through the pipes. Those hangers can't come fast enough.

However, did I mention 0-60 is no longer fun.....its comes way too fast.. 0-80 is how I ride.

Yezz, I def agree with you on that one and I am stock. You got to redline that 2nd gear cuz the power just rises and rises, it never stops. Our cars are light, it just flys.

Cant wait to get rid of the 01 and get my hands on the 02 :-D

If I had an 01, I'd keep it and slap a blower on it... but that's just me.

a modified(intake, headers,ECU,udp) 2k2/2k3 auto or 6sp can stay with a supercharged auto 2k/2k1 maxima. its pathetic for the 3.0 in auto. Manaul 3.0 are totally different story and I could have thought about something, but since its not..there is really nothing to do with it but just get rid of it.

The auto tranny on the 3.0 just kills the engine. With the VIAS not workin too on most 2k-2k1 maximas out there with 50k miles doesnt help either. omg its slow now compared to my 2k2.

Agree to disagree if the 3.5L is stock ...Which you made no mention of.... Vague too vague post Not according to dynos and track times.
Check the appropriate forums for that data.

a supercharged auto 2k/2k1 will sh*t on a stock 2k2+ auto. Its the 6 speeds that scare me , but i'm 5 speed so i aint neva scared. Instead of getting a 2k2, i'm going to get boost with the oh so popular headers...i cant wait!!! just a year and a half to go
