Taillight wiring question

Guys, can someone help me figure out which wires to tap for the resistor when installing LED 7443 bulbs?

I'm seeing one black (ground?) and two green ones with white stripes on them. Which should i tap along with the ground?

Thanks.

Also need help with this. I'm pretty sure you have to splice the ground and the wire in the middle but I just want to make sure.

The resistor should have two wires coming out of each side if you got the correct one wih the heatsink on it cause it'll get pretty hot you'll need that one. The positive (colored) wire of the resistor goes into the wire that gets a signal when u press ur brake or turn signal. I dunno which bulb ur installing you didnt mention brake or signal light. You must cut that wire and place the resistor in the middle of that circuit you cannot just tap into it. The other wire coming out of the bulb should be for your parking lights and that gets signal when ur half lights are on. And the black wire should also be placed in the circuit for ground

I looked at the FSM wiring for stop and tail lights and the colors in the manual do not match Sheepdogs photo. This is disturbing to have inacurate manuals.

I looked at the 2000 through 2003 manuals and they are all the same, saying that the wires are red with colored stripes.

I found some diagrams online but they are showing different things. Once I splice a wire, is there a way to reverse it if it is the wrong one?

Of course you can reverse a splice. You just take it apart. Even if you soldered the wires (which is the best way), you can heat up the connection and pull the wires apart.

Let me ping a really old thread just in case someone was looking for this (was, but decided to whip out the voltmeter to find out for sure). To add a resistor to the tail light circuit, it will be black and green/white. Brake circuit would be black, and green/yellow.
