Correct me if I am wrong. But the NA version of the VG in the ZX is the same engine, same internals as the TT model? Meaning the stock internals in the 300 ZX are more capable then the VQ for handleing more power? The high compression ratios of the VQ 3.5 are definitely a concern and when introducing forced induction to a car not set up for boost from the get go. This would be the reason that all of the turbo VQ 3.5s are safely run at low boost like 6.5psi. If the internals were better & they were not running such high compression ratios out of the 3.5 VQ we would be seeing boost numbers in the low to mid teens correct?

I don't know it for a fact, but I assum that the VG30DE doesn't have the same internals as the VG30DETT. Using the SR20DE and the SR20DET as a good example, and the VQ30DE vs the VQ30DET.

Yes, it would be easier to get more of the power out of the VQ35 if the compression ratios were lower and the rods weren't designed specifically for fuel efficiency.

I have to go.

Well sr20den my shift is ending at work I have to go. But to be honest with you all I know is from what I read I have no personal experience with boosted Maximas but I am gaining intrest. I will be looking through your old posts to read what you have to say. I often come to the org to learn something & come up empty. You sound like you know your stuff & I probably could learn alot from your old posts. Nice talking to ya.

a 10 hp difference does nothing to the 40+ tq difference. I'm sure the V6 accord probably had like 170 torque at best compared to the 4th gen 205 tq....the first and ONLY generation of nissan maxima's to have more tq than hp ...yea i'm still a 4th gen fan even though i own a 5th

Didn't ALL 1st, 2nd and 3rd gen Maximas with L series and VG series engines have more torque than hp?
