Anybody use the new Bosch Icon Wiper blades?
I was told about these today at AutoZone and supposedly they are supposed to be pretty good... I have no idea on the price but I was told they come 1 in a package (so 1 for driver side and 1 for passenger side)
I also listed some of the main points made on the pamphlet...
Bosch Icon Wipers...
They have no metal or plastic brackets, joints or hinges
Individual radius along each millimeter creates tension memory
Applies uniform pressure along the entire blade length
Aerodynamic wind spoiler improves air flow to create downforce and protects tension springs from snow and ice build up
20% longer performance over conventional blades with smooth, quiet operation
Exclusive weather shield connector system protects arm connection from ice and snow build-up and is pre-installed

Walmart has a pair that are similar to the bosh for $15 a side. Just put them on my truck last night. Cleaned the windshield good with no anoying wiper chatter. These are going on the Maxima next. I will see how they work in the snow.

I'd be interested in hearing about org members experiences with the Bosch Icon blades (http://jobs.boschusa.com/AutoParts/WiperBlades/ICON/) and/or the Michelin wiper blades (http://www.michelinwiperblade.com/) in terms of longevity. I have no doubt that they work, I'm primarily curious about how long they last.
I've been using the PIAA silicone blades (http://piaa.com/WiperBlades/silicone.html) and I've been very happy with them - they work well, are reasonably priced and have yet to wear out. I have used "conventional" Bosch blades in the past, and while they have worked well, they don't seem to last very long - I'm guessing the sun eats them up.

I just go the icons two weeks ago and they are the best vipers i have ever had. First of all i got both from autozone for $45. Second since they dont have any metal parts, ice in the winter will not stick in the mechanism. Third they do not jump on the high way. Best vipers on the market. Plus they have the gell blade which does not get any harder at colder tempatures. In chicago that is important.

Have em, love em... Put em om the day after I bought the car. 8 months later, the still work like new. My wife's car is one her second set on Anco's on the same time period.
Worth the price for sure.

FWIW - Tire Rack has a "buy one get one free" deal on Valeo Ultimate wipers which are similar in design (bracketless) to the Bosch Icons. $19.99 for a set:
http://www.tirerack.com/accessories/valeo/ultimate.jsp
The offer was posted on here on the org earlier but I can't find the original thread.

I just picked up some 'Flexblade' wipers from SILBLADE. These are similar to the Bosch, but come with a 5 year warranty! We have 01 & 03 max s' as well as a 06 Murano. These wipers are awesome on the max s'. I will admit I use Rainx as well. They had a sale on these until Dec 31, @ $23. free shipping! These wipers claim to outperform the others... see their comparison page.
http://www.silblade.com/
The 26"(drivers side) on the Murano, did not fit properly(the murano's windscreen has a compound curvature to it) and the company excused themselves and have mailed up some of their reg Silblades no charge.... and I live in Canada! I have been very impressed with this company. My wife & son love their new wipers on their Max 's.... crystal clear, just hope they last!

i've had the ICONS for about a year.. and i have to tell you, well worth the $45 i spent on Amazon. They are by far the best wiper i ever had.. Snow, Rain... extremely quiet... BOSCH knows what they're doing. I highly recommend.

take off the wiper and wiggle it. the rubber might be stiff. after you put them on the wiper arm, press the wiper against the windshield and use the wipers. thats wat i did to get mine on properly. otherwise your spring in the wiper arm is weak.

the Bosch Icon are the best, cuz my Mercedes E320 has them as part of a standard equipment, it hugs the windshield and aerodynamic. I was going to buy one for my max but they were out of the size on my car. They are expensive, there is no refill, you have to replace the blade each time when it's wears out, but they do last longer and perform better.

They are one of the best wipers I have used. They do have a problem with ice, it builds up in the grooves and wiping proformance suffers.

Those who have posted that they have had them for a year or more, how much does it rain/snow in your area? I have never tried these and before spending $45 bucks, I want to know if they will at least last a year. It rains a lot in Indy, and then some snow as well.

i have the ICONs and i think there a great buy although they are expensive. I had them when we had the snow/ice storm and they worked like a charm. the best part is when it rains, it swipes the windshield clean w/o streaking or chattering. they dont have any lift at high speeds either. i paid around 50 bucks for the pair and so far im very satisfied.

After reading this thread, I went out today to buy these ICON blades to replace my year old Silblades, and so far these blades are excellent. They wipe like they belong on a luxury vehicle, and ultra quiet too. Oh, and it took like 15 seconds to put them on literally each.

Here is a suggestion, use some Rain X or glass treatment, when it is raining and you are on the highway the water glides off so fast you barely need the wipers. That combined with the ICONs, you'll have perfect view in rain or snow.

11 months, 10k miles later still like new. I'd say they are worth the price.
My wife is currently on her 3rd set of Anco's in the same time period. If I was not getting rid of her car this winter I would change em.
